Just a suggestion to the mods. I think these threads might be combined.

The other day Brian ( 007hunter 007hunter ) asked for my address. At first I was hesitant because we all know what that means. I've been very lucky while a member of the porch, both in the friends I've made and the ability to acquire many knives that struck my fancy. But, as they say don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

So, how was your day? I awoke to clear blue skies and warm temps, just perfect for my morning routine of a leisurely long swim, lounging in the sun and cold ice tea. I couldn't stay too long because I knew what time the mail would arrive. I got home home just in time for some lunch and the arrival of the mail.

Now, I had no idea what Brian sent me. For all I knew it was a jury summons, hahaha. I ripped that box open and immediately my excitement rose because we all know what that tube means. I was in store for something special. My photo shows what I received. This goes beyond anything I deserve. I feel totally unworthy and can only think of how I can repay this gift. I have many fine knives but this one will be treasured forever. Brian my friend, thank you many times over. I am extremely grateful.

Alan, you are absolutely deserving of such a fine knife. Your friendship and generosity are well noted 'round these parts. Congratulations, my friend.

Well done, 007hunter. That is a very special knife that you so generously gifted.

Shawn I could not say anything better so I just had to quote you.
Ron I'm with you and Duncan this is a very special place and home to some very special people.

Thanks for the nice comments and thoughtful post Alan. I just made it home from long day of sports with my sons and it really puts a smile on my face to see that you were so happily surprised. I could not think of a better person on bladeforums so deserving of this knife. I knew that the acrylic was the missing piece in your #25 collection from one of your posts and with all your contributions here on the porch it just simply deserved to be in your appreciative hands. Hopefully someday we can share a beverage together and talk traditionals...in the meantime I will keep smiling knowing that this went to a great home.:) Enjoy my friend!!!

Thanks again Brian. I remember so many road trips with my boys both now grown with their own families. A beverage sounds good and dinner. Here's another photo from today of a unicorn resting on a tree, hahaha.
