Stunning nanographs of edges and abrasives

That's impressive, REALLY impressive. At such magnification, some of those 'edges' look like mountain ridges I'm seeing out my window right now. :thumbup:

I haven't been able to find any real contextual description of/with the pics, or even whom originally posted them. The Flickr account is named as 'Nanofabrication Facility', but I don't know what that really represents (corporation, university, individual, etc.). Can't find any such attribution on Flickr's site, for that account. Tried Googling on the name, but there are a lot of Nanofabrication Facilities associated with multiple universities in particular. No idea if these pics came from any of them.

The link to the pics was posted in a comment over on WickedEdge's forum site, but without any clear indication from where/whom the pics came. Don't know who gets credit for them, but I'd like to thank them.

Someone that goes by fuzzy chops seems to be the guy who took these pics.

Great stiff. I think I see carbides starting to crack free. Just wow!

I have never seen anything over 5000x.
 
Stunning photos. Thanks for the links guys. Those guys really get O.C.D. in straight razor shaving. I atleast try to keep mine in check but the term is embraced in that field of sharpening. DM
 
wow them guys take it to the next level with their razors, an edge that fine under that level of magnification is incredible, and he wants it finer! That certainly is pushing the steel to its limit down to the molecular level.
