Why this should be so difficult I don't know. I need to use this program, phstat, that runs in excel. In order to load, and run, my computer says that I have to run the analysis toolpak add-in. I press ok, and in a few minutes it is looking for the disk 2 of MS 2000 premium. I went to my lab at school for help (as this is required for my stat 2 class, and it's my last semester,) and they look at me as if I come from outer space. To clarify, I don't have the disks; my brother gave me the computer so i could use it for a different class (again for excel programs that only run on windows). Any advice for me? I just need that stupid add-in, and I don't want to buy ms office 2000 for it. Thanks, Joe

I'm not sure which analysis toolpak it needs, but more than likely it needs to find it on that cd...i do not know, do not care, if the copy is legitimate or not, but either way you will need that cd.

there's an outside chance of getting just that add-in online and downloading it and finding the right place to put it, etc...but, given it's a Microsoft product, it is probably rife with registry edits, etc. so, if it doesn't come with clear, awesome instructions and you are very comfortable with editing the registry, then, well, it may give you conniptions.

So, other than having the cd, I dunno if anything can really be done.

Blackwatch has pretty much got it right. I suspect the addin is to be found only on the original CD. Usually, when you install something MS Office you can select certain components to load or not load, generally most people simply opt for the "standard" install which leaves out a few things.

Unfortunately you are probably going to have to get a CD with exactly the same Office version as is installed on your PC. How you get this is up to you.
