Need a source of stainless steel damascus for a knife. I see the DamasteelUSA website advertising what I think is SS but it is never mentioned on the site that it is in fact stainless. I like the Odins Eye pattern and it looks just like the Odin's Eye SS damascus in the Texas Knifemakers catalog...is it the same stuff? I bought some from Texas a few years ago, and was told it behaved, and therefore, should be heat treated, "just like ATS-34". My elk guide last week fell in love with my damascus blades, but wanted one in stainless for the corrosion resistance. After gutting out an elk, he just can't mosey off the side of the mountain and clean and oil the knife...it may be hours before he even gets a chance to take care of the knife...hence the request for stainless.
