I was just looking at come Chris Reeve knives online and realized that I could've bought one for super cheap about a month ago. When I was at the knife shop, I was looking at BM's and asking questions (it was my first knife purchase since I turned 18 the day before). Anyway, the guy who worked there brought out a folder with the liner lock type thingy integrated into the handle of the knife and told me to open and close it. When I did, I was very suprised at the smoothness of the knife and the whole thing just felt rock solid in my hands. I looked at the price tag and it was $140. I got the BM 905SBT that day and thought nothing of it. Then, today as I was looking at the pics, I realized that the knife that guy told me to open and close was a Chris Reeve. If I remember correctly, it looked like either the small or large Sebenza. I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting it. The last time I was at the same shop, it was gone from the display case. Dammit!!!

Don't worry! It couldn't have been a Sebenza at that price. It was most likely the BM Pina...something, nice knife but not a Sebenza.;)

You never know. I bought my first Sebenza, a small one, used from a knife store in Freeport, Maine, for $120.

Benchmade used CR's integral lock in their Pinnacle (now discontinued) and $140 sounds like a price a knife shop would ask.
They look very similar to the Sebenza.

I saw 9 750's before I found one I liked (read that was ok QC wise)

When my Benza's sit next to it, I laugh...

On its own a good knife though, but next to a Benza...:p

Sarcoblaster, now you must do the only responsible thing like the rest of us, save $50 per month for 5-6 months then buy one at regualr" price :p

Sarcoblaster, Dude, it's o.k., not the end of the world. I bought many ( I mean many! ) other knives that were in the $120.00-$160.00 range before I swallowed the big lump in my throat and sprung for a Sebbie. It was a small lefty, and like a dumbass I traded it off cause I didn't carry it. About nine months later which would be a few weeks ago I realized the mistake I made, and instead of buying another one I traded 3 of my favorite custom fixed blades for a large lefty which has not left my side since. I lost money buy gained happiness. I use this one, and I will say with great confidence now that I have one, NOTHING compares to it. I have had customs from top makers, and great production knives from the likes of BM, MT, Spyderco, and the like which are great knives, but not like a Sebbie. I hope this one will become an heirloom. I would suggest saving for one. It is 100% worth it.

Wow USAFSP, that is best testimony I have read in a long time! I will bookmark this page for next time the "uninitiated" ask, "why Sebenza?";)
Thank you-
Martin
