Thanks for the new addiction :( Stupid, beautiful, classy knives. I got one one a whim, it looked cool. Well, now i am camped on the exchange refreshing every few minutes waiting for the next find to arrive! They have the same quality as Spyderco on the modern side, which is very impressive to me. I have some pretty nice Case blades, but they have nothing on these. Thanks for re-inspiring me with a little tradition :)

We are glad to help! Be aware that traditional knives tend to multiply:) I rediscovered them about 3 years ago and now have about 50...

Haha, and you think Beckers multiplied fast?
Just think, you find a pattern you like, then you find a size that you prefer, then you find a blade shape in the size/pattern you like. Then you buy a bunch to find a scale material and pattern that you like.
-Then you find that blade shape in a different pattern, but a size you like, so you try a new pattern while looking for a model made pre-war.
-Then you come to appreciate the ergos on something like a sowbelly or a saddlehorn for a user.
-Then you want a 'dress knife", a "food use knife", one to pass down to be known as "grandpas knife", and on and on and on...

Get out now, before the bug has Really bit.

This has got to be the funniest thread on this Forum.
I'm addicted too.....somebody help.....:D

I have a problem. I have moderns, traditionals, fixed blades, razors, :( Anyway wanna buy a Mac Air? I need to sell things to finance my addiction LOL. I'M A JUNKY!!!

Aww crud. I found a Case Canoe I have to have as well. Anyone wanna buy a dog? He's really smart and catches balls and frisbees. Completely house broken and loves people. He kills roaches and lizards and possums. Your house will be pest free!

Do yourself a favor and save some coin.

If you want to try a pattern, wait for it to pop on the exchange or find a "Rough Rider" that is a similar pattern and size.
Most land between $10-20 and have quite a bit of variety. You won't find the F&F that you get with the GEC, or likely the regularity that comes with Queen or S&M, but for a test drive or a beater they aren't too bad.

Yep I'm new to traditionals and now in financial trouble! ;) but I have a lot of GEC's!

Ahhh...the joy of figuring out the perfect way to cut something...

I was looking at rough riders. The Canoe is like 1/2 or more shorter than the Case or GEC version. :/ Decisions Decision.

I guess one good thing is, if it's not you, you can almost always get your money back bud..

i found one in the same size as the GEC. 18 buck shipped in what is supposed to be actual abalone and mother of pearl, etc., not imitation. We'll see when it gets here. I did find out that the Mako is too long for me. Lots of my pockets cannot support a 4.5 handle in a sheath. I think the 3 5/8 ish is my sweet spot if its free floating. I do know i do NOT like the tiny toothpick. It was much smaller than i figured a 3in knife would be. The peanut is much better at that size.

Try standing them upright next to your wallet. They will all but disappear.

I almost bought 3 Coyote's in a week (I already have one). Almost bought two Queen's last night (I have two). The key word is almost. Also the reason my wife is sitting next to me and not in jail on manslaughter charges. :D
