Stupid Oil Question

I recently applied some 3-in-one oil onto a non-stainless steel stockman of mine. Right after I did so, I realized my mistake. I'd be using this stockman to cut food at some point and I don't fancy poisoning myself.

How do I go about removing any trace of the oil off the blade? Is it just as simple as cleaning it with dishwasher soap?

Yes, and then apply mineral oil.
A little 3-in-one won't hurt you.

+1 on Bill's answer.

Make sure the mineral oil is FOOD GRADE, available in any store pharmacy section with the laxitives.

almost any oil is fine as long as it's applied sparingly and only to the pivot. If you like a nice thick coat on the blade and don't want to wipe it off before cutting food then use the aformentioned food grade mineral oil.
