Ok so here's my stupid question... how does one go about pronouncing busse? Is it pronounced (bus-ee) or (boo-see) or (boo-say) or something else? I just don't want to sound like an idiot when I'm talking to other knife nuts like myself

Thanks much

Not a stupid question at all. Too bad a lot of youtube guys don't ask this question before making videos.

Given there is a video on the Busse Combat website home page where it's pronounced for you, it surprises me how often this question gets asked.

It's pronounced "kiss your wallet good bye". :)

Lmao --- this definitely made me "lol"

Its also pronounced, "Dear Lord don't ever let my my wife know how much I actually paid for these and how many of them I actually have." But what ozgooner said works too lol.

It's not pronounced like in the languages the name must have come from.
I was surprised hearing it from the Busse answering machine.

It's like bus in school BUS and a long e as in sEE.

In Scandinavian or German languages it would sound more like Bus with a Bu as in BUll and a short e as in pEn

Pronounced as if you were stating the fact that you feel very much like a bus today, due to being ridden by random street dwellers for hours on end.

And charging them for it.

"I'm feeling very 'bussy' today." Said Gary Bussey after taking a shot.

Fussy with a B is what I have heard a bunch back in the old days.

Not sure if it would matter, I have told several people every year at Blade and other shows and still see/hear them say it wrong.

Even had a few argue with me about it and tell me how them and Gary Busse go way back and how they told him how to make knives better and how they drank together and so on :)

Kind of like when folks tell me them and Mike Striker of Strider Knives are besties
