Stupid question here (Like alerts)

I'm on a lot of forums, but they don't have like alerts. What is proper protocol when receiving like alerts?

Nothing. It just lets you know, probably at heart a way to gage your posts but nothing more is required of you. I think you can actually turn the alerts off if you wish.

The way I do it is I read the post and if I like it and I agree I pushed the like button.

There is a sizable list of notifications/alerts. I turn off all email alerts and most of the notifications. I usually only keep the notifications for quotes and tags activated.
