Stupid question

OK here it comes. Buck/Mayo 171 or is it 172?

In the Buck 2005 dealer catalog it's 172. There is no listing for 171. HTH

the 171 is the model that was re released. With talk of the larger model but the 171 i dont believe took off sales wise.
I think I picked up Green, Blue and a couple Titanium.

The 171 is the Mayo Waimea the knife was new in 2007. Don't get it confused with the 172 Mayo TNT.

Waimea is smaller for one thing... at least the one I have is smaller than the 173 and 174 models I have, which I believe are the same size as the 172 (which I don't have).

I hope Buck does another run of the TNT version. I would be all over that. I have the Waimea and it was smaller than I expected. Once the clip was removed, makes a good drop in the pocket knife though (so light you can't tell its there).

T thank you for this info. I had a TNT at one time. Came in a nice box. Started thinking about finding one again. The 171's might be an option.

Think of it like a 110/112 or in this case 172/171
