Ok, I've been hearing a lot about Busse lately so I decided to check out the line up and see if perhaps there was something that might interest me. I come here, click the link and check out the Busse home page...

Umm there's only like one knife listed there. The "war boar." I've seen more pictures of Busse knives in one back issue of Blade than are on that web page. What gives?

I know, absolutely know for a fact that there are more models of Busse than are listed there (yes even in the gallery section) I am not finding it user friendly. Is there a different retailer? Some place better to check for a comprehensive listing with prices?

" The New Production Protocol At Busse Combat.
It’s a new day at Busse Combat my friends. We have made enormous changes designed to serve you better and offer you many more options when choosing your Busse knife. The new line is very exciting and the designs are extremely cool! We will be doing things quite differently and here are just a few of the highlights.

Sheaths are no longer included with and therefore are not added to the price of the knife. We are doing this to better serve you. Now, instead of having to pay for a sheath you do not want, you will be able to choose from a wide variety of sheathing options and can have your sheath customized to your liking.

There will be three types of sheaths available, including Cordura, Kydex, and Leather. We have the top sheath makers in the world participating in this venture including, Dwayne Puckett (Armoralleather), Mike Bartol (Mt. Mike’s), and Kenny Rowe with various styles and options in leather. Eric Noeldechen (On Scene Tactical), Brian Wagner (Okuden), and Dave Brown (Buy Brown). In cordura we feature the awesome designs of Dan Hirayama (Semper Paratus).

In regards to shipping, Busse Combat has now turned the corner on missed or delayed delivery dates with this new production protocol and we are delivering all standard model offerings within the quoted delivery time periods.

Knife finish and handle options will be numerous. Blade finishes may include Three different Camo Combos (Urban, Desert, and Jungle), Satin, Double Cut, Tan, and Black. Handle options will likewise vary from model to model.

We are also considering a serial numbered, Limited Edition version of each model on its first run.

The production schedule is slated at 1 or 2 models per month for the next 12 months. Those models will ONLY be available during the month they are offered and will not be offered again for at least full year. For example, the Force One and the Nuclear Air Rescue Knife (NARK) were offered during the month of August, 2004. They will not be available again for at least a full year until August, 2005. Likewise, the options available the next time around may be very different from those available the first time. This 12 month stretch between batch runs, should make reselling your Busses very easy during the interim.

Here' are some of the models that you will see this year. They are in no particular order.

- SF Natural Outlaw
- Active Duty
- Force One
- Air Rescue TAC
- Meaner Street
- Leaner Meaner Street
- SF Recurved Fighter (Not Yet Named)
- Tank Buster
- Fusion Steel Heart
- Tanto TAC (Not Yet Named)
- Satin Jack TAC
- Paul's Hatchet TAC
- Prototype Groved Fighter (Not Yet Named)

"We will be offering the American Kensei 47 "AK-47" as well as the Skeleton Key through the end of September. . . hopefully not much longer than that. . . .

Many of our offers have been severely extended past their original anticipated time periods due to a couple of reasons. Primarily, we have been filling many mil. orders and have had to wait for breaks in the production schedule in which to fill our civilian orders. Secondly, from the beginning we anticipated, with the "limited time offer" system, that we would receive a flood of orders in the beginning and then expected the demand to taper down. . . The orders and demand for the Steel Heart and Satin Jack both started off way beyond our expectations and never did taper down. . .they were both still selling very strong, even at the end of the extended offer period. We will do our best to stick to our cut-off dates in the future in order to bring more models to the table and to speed-up deliveries for those who order early."

" Announcing the BUSSE COMPANY STORE!!!!!! Very Cool!!!!!
Busse Company Store

The new 2004 Busse Combat line brought with it the
introduction of numerous custom options. Our original plan
was to only offer 2 models per month. After that month is
up neither of the two models would be offered again for
nearly 1 year. This ordering protocol would allow us to
keep up with the demand and to offer a high number of custom
options. This concept would fuse high tech production
protocols with old school craftsmanship and personalized
attention. The idea looked great on paper and looked
extremely promising until we noted a couple of pitfalls to
this new way of offering our blades. The primary problem
with only offering any given model for a 4 week period
throughout an entire year was highlighted by a large number
of emails that we received from our customers. Many folks
noted that this would cause a great deal of inconvenience
for them as they might not be able to afford every knife
that they would want to purchase at the particular time that
it would be offered.

Discussions of these potential pitfalls have led us to the
formation of the Busse Combat Company Store. The Company
Store will order and stock a small number of each model
during the specified ordering period. These will be
delivered to the Company Store at the same time as all other
shipments and then be available for purchase over the course
of the next 11 months.

Our goal is one production batch and one shipment period (5
days) per model. This manufacturing and delivery protocol
will allow us to manage the large number of custom options
while maintaining an accurate delivery schedule.

Other offerings from the company store will include
clothing, hats, patches, shot glasses, etc . . . Scott and
Vicki Lind have agreed to manage and operate the company
store and all purchases and correspondence will be directed
through them. If you have any suggestions or ideas for
offerings that you would like to see from the Busse Company
Store, please email Scott and Vicki at info@bussecompanystore.com

Yours in Nuclear Company Storage!!!!!

and somewhere in the forums is skunks response to why its difficult to keep the high demand knives in the company store for any amount of time.... basically they get ordered to fast for the company store to keep up....

no way am i going to be able to find it in the search though... being that the seach engine wont work for me on most 2 word searches, and it wont work for company, my only other option is to search all posts for the date i think it might have been posted (no idea when), or go through all of skunks posts (just as difficult)
