Ahhhh, working on your "dumba$$ merit badge". :( That's gonna look good in a few days! Actually, I'd say "well done", so to speak....

I'd say keep a bunch of aloe/vitamin E on it. Lose less skin.

Heal well, Joe....

Lmao, well done....they gave me some stuff called silver sulfazidine seems to work pretty good the main thing is keeping it moist so i dont rip off the scabs that will appear.they were calling me names today, hey pyro go get the torch.hey smokin joe whats happening.Like the saying goes if your gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough :)

Yeah, that ain't about to get any sympathy in a trades setting, is it? LOL

The silver compound will prevent infection from setting in, the biggest fear with a deep burn. It's been used successfully for a long time. I keep a tube of the aloe/E at home for burns, but something like that would probably send me to the doc for what you got, too.

Take good care of it. It's going to get worse for a few days as tissue dies. Good luck with it, Joe. I feel for ya....

Hang in there Joe, you are probably in for some rough days ahead as it sluffs off dead skin to make room for new. Keep it clean! My thoughts and prayers are with you...dumb move or not!

Do I miss working on large construction projects? NO.... I was burnt a number of times by myself or others but never as well done as you just did. Wish you the best and please take care of it.

You know that looks awfully familiar. I have done something similar to that. Just not as bad. But I have had 3rd degree burns. Ouch!!! I aggree with the comments about the Aloe/E lotion. The best thing that I found was an Alo Vera plant. I keep one near the shop in case I have one of those jackassery moments. :) You know, when you get done with a weld and then go to run your finger across the top. Ouch! And the whole torch burns and such. Good luck to ya and keep it clean. If you are still have to work, keep some ice in your cooler. It will help to releave the pain if it gets unbarrable.

Yes , aloe vera is the best . One of the 'herbal remedies ' that they have actually researched well and have isolated and identified the active ingredients !! I use a salve with aloe vera and vitamin E [another good one].

Nice!!!! Heal fast! Dont you know that you need to use a sharp knife to slit your wrists? A torch is less effective....

ouch ! That hurt's just looking at it , & being a burn - Triple the Pain Factor !!! I'll bet you break that spot open a few more times before its finally healed . Take care Buddy

Right on, Joe! In a high school shop class I did the EXACT same thing, except I managed to put the torch out with my wrist. I've waited nearly 25 years to see someone else do it. Welcome to an elite club of dumbkopfs! Heal fast my brother.

MAN O MAN O MAN..   :(
That's why my ole buddy, Ole man Larkin keeps a cooler of ice by every welding table in his shop and a 102 quart beside the mobile machines.
If you'da had ice in 10- 15 seconds it would be A LOT better.
Keep'er clean.

thanks for the cleanliness tips :) It made my mother-inlaw gag tonight :D
ya know your right about that tik tock i feel like a douche bag with a suicide bandage on my wrist all day :o I still cant get over the smell thing :barf: kinda rules out canabalism for me

Joe your burn wins first place, but you may be only second on the dumass scale.

I used to work as an electrician. I had a big heavy soldering iron. I knocked it and quick as a flash relex I caught it. I was not pleased with myself for long.

Thanks for sharing I like to know it is not just me.
