Hi everybody, I occasionally need to spend time in places with laws prohibiting knives over 2.5", and so was looking for another knife to buy that would fulfill those requirements.

What I'm looking for:
Probably $30-60 range, can expand it if I find something I really like
Decent steel (I would hope for at least 440c)
Lefty-friendly
Pocket clip
Tip up carry
Under 2.5" blade, but not much shorter
I was thinking maybe spyderco?
Blade shape vaguely similar to the knives I have now (see below)
No AO

The knives I carry now are a BM 705-401 and BM 960, both of which I like, but which are a tad under/a bit over 3", respectively.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Falkniven U2 is a good one. No pocket clip or opening stud/hole/disc, but for $50 its hard to find a better knife.

And pretty much impossible to find one that holds a better edge, at any price.

Check out the Boker Subcom... its alot of knife in a small package and comes in a variety of shapes and colors( Ie. Rescom, Wharncom.. )

Oh and I agree the Spyderco Lava is worth a look

Consider the SOG Blink with a 2" blade or the SOG Twitch II with a 2.6" blade. Both are nice little knives and razor sharp from the factory. I have both. Should do the trick.

I vote for the Mouse. I have a Spyderco version but the new Blade-Tech version is suppose to be even better.

Take a look at a Spyderco Spin. Again I don't own one but it looks like it is a great little knife. Certainly worth checking out.

Spyderco Copilot has 2" blade of VG10. Saw it on one of the web sites for $65.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys,

Looking at these online I think I'm going to have to find a shop or something, because it's just too hard to figure out how a knife this small is gonna look/feel just by looking at pictures.

Hello,

I agree for any Subcom Folders of the Boker Plus line or the the spyderci Lava.
But this one is a little bit over the prices you mentionned.

however, I have EDC a Subcom F for this summer : completly satisfied!!!

Take care,

Bob

Mostly covered.

SOG Blink

Wegner Mouse Lite (440C)

Sypderco Dragonfly/Navigator

What I would really recommend is increase your price range and look at the Spyderco Poliwog, VG-10, ball-lock (ambidextorous), one hand open/close, no blade play, less than 2 1/2 inches. Great ergonomics. Down side? A little heavy, wire clip. But over all the best.
