The title pretty much says it all, small, slim, sub 3" folder, with a plain edge, and around the $100 mark (preferably under).

Being an Aussie, it can't be an auto, or any other "dangerous" such thing - not sure about assisted, perhaps a fellow aussie can help out here?

At the $100 mark the Spyderco Chaparral Carbon Fiber would be a nice, slim cutting machine. The Spyderco Delica is as slim as the Kershaw Leek, is only around $60, and a wonderful knife. Also, take a look at the Spyderco Cat, which is close to the slimness of the Chaparral, but only slightly thicker (very slightly) and is around $46.

Thanks DocT, much appreciated!

There's so much out there, it's hard for a noob to know where to start!

The Spyderco recommendations are good ones. If you don't see anything you like, A. G. Russell and Kershaw also do some smaller folders in your price range.

HUGE range of possibilities in the Spyderco line-up. I love my G10/VG-10 Dragonfly2.

The Squire is a decent knife for the money, but if you're going to pay import duties, I'd get something fancier.

Thanks guys!

Is there anywhere that the overall width (across the handles, if that makes sense) on knives is published? A lot of manufactures don't seem to show it?

If you slim and great, look at the Spyderco Caly 3 with VG10 blade-steel. A real winner for your specs.
Best of luck to ya, friend.
