A few threads posted lately have made me ask myself whether its time for Blade Forums to add a new sub forum; one specifically for people whose only purpose in being on the forum is to amuse themselves and irritate others.

Trolls are like most things noxious ; if they don't get fed they die.

Lets make a collective effort to make this forum a less agreeable place for trolling and more inviting to people who are interested in knife making.

Just a thought, Fred

Good idea. Then there could be a placeholder for people wondering where the waste of bandwidth moved to indicating "moved to trollhaven"

I apologize if I've offended you, by trolling the troll, Fred. We do have a thread for trolls in the Whine & Cheese subforum called the "Dumbass Thread" All Stacy or Mark has to do is move the thread there... Unsure really why they haven't, but a troll in the makers forum is fairly rare, so a lil fun at the expense of one Troll shouldnt be to concerning IMHO of course. :)

I AGREE 100% WITH THAT SUGGESTION FRED. there are a lot of trolls on the forum. i have had emails sent to me by a troll who is still a member on the forum who had to hide behind a fake email addy but i found him out.

Guys,

Just send me a P.M. or email me and I will be glad to move the garbage while protecting your privacy. Looking forward to meeting many of you at Blade. It is just a quick couple of months away.

Gus

Can we punish them in the interim???? You know interwebz vigilante justice?

Does this mean I can't be a moderator? :(

Sorry guys, I will keep an eye out here more.

The person in question is on a short leash with the rope.

It is up to him now. If he continues he knows he will hang himself as far as BFC and specifically this forum is concerned.

His move.

Gus, can the guys in W&C ship over some funnel cake for the makers? We rarely get funnel cake back here in the caves. :)

I think we should have zero tolerance for trolling... especially in the sub-forums with a professional(Loosely used) atmosphere like the Q&A. We get them in WSS and PracTak but those forums are on the fringe of what Bladeforums is really about. When we start to make it less inviting for makers and collectors... we are eating away at the core of Blade Forums.

Trolls should be corralled and fed a strict diet of Wine and Cheese.

Well said: "we are eating a way at the core"

There lies a deep well of information and a willingness to share that knowledge on this forum.
It slows up that process when we get distracted by lesser concerns.

Lets let this thread die off as well and get back to what we do here.

Good ideas. This is no place for troll soap opera like the thread in question. When talk and interaction starts slipping down that slope I find myself not wanting to visit as much and go hang over in the custom section.

Gus,
Thanks for locking the other thread and coming in on this one. I was letting the folks have their say, but was about ready to pull the plug when you did. I have tried to let things go as long as it didn't become a nasty fight. The subject of these threads is really a piece of work, that's for sure. If his latest one gets into the same discourse as the last one, I will lock it.

Guys, if you are displeased with the direction a thread is going, or the conduct of a poster, just let me know and I will be glad to do whatever is necessary.

Stupid trolls!

:-) The next goal should be to make all the idiots on the boards keep their posts in the idiot-subforum.
