Hi Everyone!

I have finished the fifth JS Test knife (I will post it after Caleb photographs it) and have started on the next knife.

This knife is for a fellow Forumite and it will be on display at the Blade show. It will have a 12" "Star Burst" pattern blade, premium Mammoth Ivory handle, German Silver liners and "Explosion" Pattern Damascus fittings. This is going to be the first Sub-hilt Fighter I've made. It will have 42 to 48 pieces in it, depending on how many internal line up pins I have in the handle.

The way I'm going to show you the progress is: each day my brother will take little video clips of me working on the knife and at the end of the day he will edit the clips together. Then I will post the video of that days work on here. Please tell me if you like this or the photographed kind of progression thread better. If you like this better I will continue to make the video clips and if not I will make the thread with pictures.

I hope you like it!

I would like to thank my brother Caleb for making these videos.

Here is the one for today, enjoy!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Kyle, you and Caleb keep them coming I can't wait for the next one. I can only imagine what your work will be like in 5 to 10 years.

Great video. Nice and steady, good sound and the narration is perfect too. It's the next best thing to being right there in the shop with you. Definitely keep it up.

Thats excellent. Thanks for taking the time always to show us your work. I think of you as a pro already, and you can only get better from here. This is only the beginning :) Scary to think of it actually.

Whens your bro gonna come chime in? :)

You and Caleb make a great team Kyle. This does take the WIP threads to a WHOLE new dimension!

Thanks,
Peter

Very Very cool Kyle

I love you control on the press, you've done that SEVERAL times ehhh

It's obvious your running a pretty high tonnage (40-50?) and you just kiss it

fun to watch, really.

I agree with Stephan.
Didn't you and your dad build that press?

Thanks for the entertainment and education you bring us with each of your WIPs.

Yes my Father and I built the press.

Stephan your guess was right, it's in between 40 and 50 tons! That allows me to have about all the power I need.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I'll have more tonight.

Fantastic to see the video progression of my.... I mean fellow forumite's :D knife being made.

Appreciate the extra effort you and Caleb put into doing neat things like this!
