Subcom 42

I checked on this today, and best we know these won't be released in the US.
If this changes, I will post it here.

Here's a really dumb question: would the Wharcom blade be compatible with the 42's handle? It'd be expensive, but something makes me want a Wharncliffe slippie.

I believe the 42 uses a ball detent and has a half stop, so the blade of a locking Subcom variant might have a shot at compatibility. If the detent hole and tang on the blade could match up correctly at the open position on the 42 frame it could work.

Edited to add: Found a photo that someone had posted at British Blades showing the normal and 42 versions side by side.

The detent ball looks to be larger on the 42. Whether that would seat properly on a blade from the locking version and provide smooth operation is a question. Maybe the detent hole on the blade would have to be enlarged a bit. Other than the size of the ball the frames look identical.
