Aloha ALL,

Well...While "checking out Germany", I came across some pictures of the Boker Plus SFB. They were all incredible pics...

REWIND:
A few days ago, maybe more, I get an email from some fellow in Germany saying thank you for the SFB design, and how it has become his favorite compact FB. Cool! I just wish I had one I could carry!

PRESENT:
Come to find out, that guy who emailed me was the same fellow who posted those wonderful pics over on a German Forum! I asked him for permission to post his pics here, and thankfully, he agreed!

So please, enjoy these images provided by my friend basti. Mahalo much basti, and if BlackBlade is reading this, I need your pics also! ;)

Mahalo bro,

Er...just make sure it's the handle, okay?:D :p :D Just kidding!

Let us all know how that production proto works for you! (AND make sure whatever you bag is bigger than what Sgt. A would catch! )

Yeah those rings look sweet but not as sweet as that SFB !!!!

Take it easy Champ !

I'm sorry Chad for not coming back to you sooner. I was a little bit busy and had no patience to take some aditional pics that I promised you. I was hoping for some better weather over here to have some better light for taking pics but we have this cloudy, rainy weather for some days now and it's not getting better. Anyway, I took some pics even though I'm not satisfied with the result.

Here we go:

Some comparison pics between the Subcom Folder (Gen. 1) and the Subcom Fixed Blade:

Picky little things:
In some points the machining of the Fixed Blade is not that good than the machining on the Subcom Folder. The knurling is a little bit inaccurate and the cut-outs in the handle show some ridges. Some pics to illustrate:

Also the edges of the fixed Blade's handle could be rounded a little bit more.
Even if those points could be done better one has to keep in mind that this design is meant as a user and as a user those "picky little things" don't matter at all. The Subcom Fixed Blade is great to handle and is a sturdy littel knife. When I first saw the knife I couldn't imagine the function of the cut-outs. Handling the knife I notices that they can support the finger tips while gripping the knife.

So in a nutshell: Great little, well thought-out knife!

Chad: Keep up the good work"

Kind Regards

BlackBlade

Does anyone know if anybody is making belt sheaths for these yet? I just got mine (very pleased, by the way), but I'm not crazy about the sheath it comes with.

Aloha TheGreatGonzo,

Mahalo for your support! You might wanna give Death's Head a email regarding a kydex sheath, if that's what you were looking for. He does INCREDIBLE Kydex sheaths! OR...

If ya want some mods done to your SFB AND get a Kydex sheath, try www.chaxknives.com...my "Uncle" Chase can definitely hook you up!

God bless and thank you:thumbup:

Alohallo BlackBlade!

Amazing and wonderful pictures my friend!

Thanks so much for taking the time to take new ones and for threading about the SFB here. Now all ya need is a ALL Black SF to match your forum name!;)

God bless and see you later:thumbup:

Daywalker,
Thanks for the response. It truly is a very nice little knife. I think I expected the sheath to have some sort of accomodation for attaching it to a belt. Is the intent of the included sheath to attach it via some cord supplied by the buyer?
Thanks,
Gonzo

Aloha Gonzo,

Thank YOU for giving me "something" to respond to! Actually, there was a time when the sheath was supposed to come with a Tek-Lok, that's why the holes are positioned the way they are...however, until I get one for myself, I am not sure on the size of the Tek Lok.:(

You *could* attach it with paracord to your belt for now, or simply attach some cord to it and drop it into your pocket...:o Not sure how big a fan you are of neck carry, but that could do as well.

Anyway, thanks again, and God bless:thumbup:

I use the subcom sheath with the big Tek Lok... it is very comfortable and not to big....

thanks for the positive feedbacks about my pics

thanks

Due to the nice low price on this one I may just find someone (like "Uncle Chase") to pimp it a little. (New kydex w/ carbon fiber handle slabs). If/when it ever happens I'll let you guys know....
