I've picked up a few Bokers recently. SubCom fixed, SubCom folder, and Direkt. I really like the SubComs. The fixed version is marked "USA". Does Boker have a factory here making these or are they being made by someone else? I thought I remembered someone mention Ontario making something for Boker, but I'm probably mistaken.

I'm not entirely sure.
Mine says "Made in USA", but there are reports of ones made in Taiwan (also of 440C or its equivalent). From what I recall, they were originally made by Ontario Knives. Or, it might just be the Edit?

Either way, I really like the Subcom FB, but I think something a tad lighter might suit me better, hence my next Boker will be the Edit ;).
Custom sheaths for both (and for most production fixed blades) are a must IMO.

I've handled the Edit. Much lighter and very comfortable.

Yep, Ontario made them for us, here in the US.

Ontario makes some good stuff...I like the work they do...though I really love my Subcom FB knowing this I now love it twice as much....Doc:D

God bless and mahalo!
Happy Holidays!!!

Thanks. Am I mistaken in thinking that this is Chad Los Banos? If so, excellent design. I got a SubCom folder at the same time and have been carrying it every day.

Yep, the one and the same.

He enjoys long walks on the beach (to test knives by sharpening them on rocks), pretty much anything Star Wars, and is probably one of the most positive and kind folks I've had the pleasure of meeting on the internet.

He is a bit chubby though, he should bulk up a little bit.

:p
