Subcom Question

I have decided to mod a couple of Subcom blades by popping off the plastic thumb "wedges" and either putting in thumb studs or grinding in opening slots. Before I go and make things overly complicated, does anyone know if they are screwed in, fitted by compression, or simply epoxied in place? I could just get out the cutoff wheel or big pliers and go for broke, but a little foreknowledge might save extra finish work on the other end. It would be awesome if Boker would make a modular Subcom kit, because my various models all seem to have slightly different specs, standoffs, etc. In the meantime, it's back to the workshop....

They may be epoxied in place, but a set of pliers will remove them. They won't be intact when you're done. The holes will be too big for studs, so plan on widening them.
