my little brother can only carry a 2" blade or smaller in his line of work. he has never owned a knife before, so i thought the subcom would be perfect for him.

i bought him one like this...

i am sure i will play with it before i give it to him. if i like it, i may buy one for myself.

That's a great gift and pretty ideal knife for the work environment.

You should definitely get one for yourself.

It's a great little knife, very solidly built, with a thin, sharp blade. As cheap as they are, go ahead an get yourself one! :D

I'm looking forward to the hawkbill version, to add to my regular Subcom, and the drop point Trance to go with my original Trance.

Depending on what he might use it for a work, you might also consider a Wharcom. The go through cardboard like a laser beam.

Aloha biggerjon,

Good on you for giving such a great gift, and I am happy to have read that you got one for yourself also!

Revolvergeek has a point about what your brother plans on doing with the Subcom Folder (aka SF). The Wharcom is indeed a pocket lightsaber when challenged by cardboard!

God bless and mahalo esav, Ludwig, and Revolvergeek!!!

my brother is a corrections officer. he will not be needing it for cardboard. :)

mostly rope, letters, etc.. daily stuff.
