A package arrived today from Boker USA....(thank you Boker)...enclosed a Subcom F Wharnie....soon to be released....First let me say Wow!!! This has got to be the King of the Subcom Fs and it's going to be a big seller for sure....Just wait till you get your hands around this one!!!!!!

As soon as I snapped opened the blade I knew the look on my face was precious,My first thought,Oh MY GOD, THIS IS A 'SNUBNOSE' YOJIMBO....Now you know I'm a big Wharnie fan but this "Snubnose Subcom" is cute as a button but don't let the cute part fool you one bit! Cause this is one lean mean slicing machine!!!

Well I have been using this knife all day and I tell you what...not only is it sheeple friendly, it is another example of pure knife genius by Chad Los Banos.
Once again it is the little knife that does a big knife's work, and that is because it doesn't know it's a little knife...

Out of the box this is a razor sharp scalpel with the familiar Subcom Handle, we have all come to love....I have begun to cut all kinds of things and the 'Snubnose Subcom' is going through things like a hot knife in butter. Simply amazing cutting power for the small blade size...I am quite impressed!!

In the past people have talked about being able to draw their Subcom F from the pocket and have the thumb stud catch the pocket and open the knife as if it had a wave function...I have never experienced this with any of my Subcoms and I have all of them that have been released thus far....Well........Now I know what some of these people are talking about....everytime I draw the knife it opens like a waved knife as long as you push it a little forward towards the pocket front....This is amazing...I think it does this because the blade configuration and height when in a closed position sets the thumb studs a little higher up on the spine than in the other Subcoms...so it easily catches the pocket lip every time and Presto! you have yourself a quick deploying Subcom with a Slick Wharnie Snubnose Blade
for SD if you should ever need it.

Put this one on your Christmas List ASAP...You are going to just fall in love with this Chad Los Banos creation.....I have been carrying a Tan CE Subcom as my EDC and have found this blade design to be quite useful, I am really enjoying using this Tan CE Subcom and I was thinking to myself yesterday while using it to break down some boxes, it doesn't get much better than this, when using a small knife....well.........I was wrong!!...it does get much better!!!!!......we are talking wharncliffe dressed in Subcom clothing....You know what? I love this knife!!!! and I don't think it will leave my pocket anytime soon....Doc:D

{WE ARE GOING TO NEED THIS KNIFE IN A FIXED BLADE MODEL FOR SURE}__________________

I'm missing the Rescom and Black SF, they'll be here when I get more money.

Aloha ALL,

Mahalo SSifu, for your "mini-review" and thanks a LOT everyone for checking out this thread!

The WF is becoming my personal fave "flavor" of Biscuit as well!!! :o

God bless and take care Knifebro'z!

I just picked up my Wharcom. I didn't know they were available. what a great surprise. I walked into my local knife store Rivers Edge Cutlery and there it was. This has been a great knife week. I think I will put this one into my EDC rotation.

I have for the last two weeks used the wharcom as my EDC knife - before that it was the trance, and before that the subcom. I have today decided that I like the wharcom only for special purposes, like cutting plectra for my harpsichord, but not as an everyday carry-along. The reason is that this knife has a pain spot which I find very uncomfortable when closing the knife. It is the end of the grooved section, the last and fourth tip before the blade's back makes an angle and the fine grooves begin. The same point isn't problematic at all in the case of the subcom because the angle is wider and because this last tip is modeled softer, but when handling the wharcom it is a continuing irritation. Yes, I am possibly particularly oversensitive being a pianist and all that, but I wonder whether I shouldn't get my Dremel off the shelves.

I agree that Wharcom is the best SF to date. I wouldnt change anything on it, let alone go near it with a dremel. Yikes.

Why not? Over there on the kitchen forum, we dremel around on our most precious Japanese knives and cleavers so they dont hurt you when in constant use. The backs are notorious for uncomfortable edges. This my Wharnie has a pain spot which the SF does not have, so I am going to dremel that spot to an SF finish. Can't see any yikesy about that.

I got one last week and like it a lot. I'm in a "Sheeple" sensitive environment. Only negative feedback is on one hand closing. The liner lock position takes a while to get used to in developing the tactile sense of the thumb to unlock it. I put a Mercop black fob with the metal skull on it that adds a nice touch. It is sorta like a mini-Yojimbo though, cuts like crazy!
