Overall it's 16.5/8" long and weighs 27.5 oz.
The blade is 1095 spring steel 11.3/16" X 1.3/4" X 1/4" thick
3/8" thick at the blade catchers.
The handle is 5.3/16" long with a one piece high impact
tooling resin grip that is poured to and through the full tang.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Question: How is the bottom of the guard attatched? It looks like the gaurd, tang and blade are all one piece.

And for some reason, this knife has me thinking "WWI trench knife". Not really sure why.

Oh, almost forgot. GREAT BLADE!!!!

The d-guard is curled around from the but and welded between the
front guard side pieces.
Thank you,
Mike

Thanks for the much appreciated kind words.
This one is getting sheathed now for Darksky
after lending his input with some design tweaks
(Thanks Brad).
I always look forward to posting here on blade-forums.
Even though my blades are not as beautiful and refined as
some of the absolute works of art that grace the pages
here from time to time.
They are still warmly received.
I try to find time to check out other posts and comment
on the work. But the time isn't always found.
If you've given me words of encouragement or helpful
tips and I've failed to return the favor, I apologize.

We all need a pat on the back once in a while.
Thanks for mine,
Mike

Mike, I am so stoked that you made this one for me. I have lusted after your knives since joining the forum and now I will have one that was made just "for" me. I may may not let the dog bite the mailman this week...
A side note about your work, while I may be a novice at making knives, I just am working on numbers three and four, I am not inexperienced at recognizing quality work. Even just in pictures your knives are unique and reek of real world tooling and usefulness. More of a review once MY knife arrives. -Bradley

My knife has arrived. It is an amazing piece of work. If you have an opportunity to purchase a knife made by Mike, do not pass it up.
My observations:
heavy, well balanced working knife
incredible use of tooling resin for scales- strong and pretty while textured to ensure grippiness.
subhhilt is shaped perfectly for my hand, even with my deerskin gloves.
File cut texturing on body of blade lends a patina to the overall knife that makes it look "aged" without being worn
fit of parts is great, coupled with hand hewn finishes make for an exceptional overall "feel" of this tool.
construction seems to be bulletproof. I don't think I could damage this tool using it as a knife, machete or hatchet.
The blade catcher or "bracing" makes the spine even toughter. Not to mention how cool it looks.
The D guard with the extended finger guard (to protect my index finger when plunging) is absolutely perfect and looks great too.
The thigh tie down sheath (made southpaw) is exceptional as well.

I am proud to have this knife, everyone who has seen it wants to make it theirs by hook or by crook. I will try and wear this tool out on my little homestead, but I fear I will be done before it is.

You would be fortunate to have one of Mike's knives.
Thanks again Mike. Bradley
