I know how to photograph a knife, or even scan one, doctor it up slightly, and file it on my computer. I wish I knew more about getting these files onto the forum. When I have a email address from someone, it is a small matter. But to post to the forum I have not figured out. This seems like something that should be a regular sticky set of instructions that many might find helpful.

Bernard Levine has some instructions in this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353471

In a nutshell, go to http://www.photobucket.com and create an account for yourself to host your photos. Once you get an account, you can upload your JPG files. I upload as JPG files attached to an email with an email address you get with your Photobucket account.

Once you've got your JPG files uploaded to Photobucket, you can go into your personal picture album on Photobucket, and COPY the IMG code tag and PASTE it into the Blade Forum thread.

It is fairly easy to figure out. Photobucket makes it very easy.

Tongueriver, nothing is easier than becoming a Gold Member and its so simple to attach photos direct to each post here clicking managing attachments at the bottom of "Post Reply" or "New Thread"...even I can do it....and I'm even older than our resident old Codger......I could never get the hang of photobucket even though I tried to uplift.....and there are many knife photos in Cyberspace that never quite made it here. Support B/F mate and you wont look back.... Hoo Roo

I got so accustomed to using Photobucket I just stuck with the method. I'd never done it directly before, but it is really easy doing it like that.

Either way you do it, it sure makes the forum a lot more fun to share pictures.

I will tinker around with these ideas when I get a round Tuit. Thanks. I am a gold member, but for some reason it doesn't show up (?)
