Wanted to upgrade my account subscription and would like to know how the prorated portion works. My gold account renews in may. If I up grade to knifemaker now, will I have to pay the 40 dollars again in may?

The way I understand it is that you will be a knifemaker for 1 year (until Feb 2010) at which time you will revert back to Gold for the remaining 3 months (until May).

I think how it works is that Spark will figure up the monetary value of the time you have left on Gold, figure up how much extra time that amount would get you on Knifemaker, and add that amount of time to the new subscription and cancel the old one.
