subscribe to forum isn't working

I subscribed to the Back End and it appears in my User Control Panel and a new post is listed there but I didn't get email notification. I don't know, maybe I misunderstood that and it isn't supposed to send email ... but it would be very cool if it did.

I've been subscribing to threads and that's working fine.

It doesn't send you an email - it's just a stripped down view of only the forums you are interested in viewing.
