Subscribe to User ?

not sure about this, but is it possible to subscribe to a user in the same way one subscribes to a thread? i.e. can I subscribe to my favourite knife maker and if he posts or starts a new thread, I receive a notification by email? is this an option that can be turned on within vBulletin ?

Not that I know of. You can always bookmark his profile and check on his latest posts or started threads.
