Successfully patented my paracord survival bracelet invention!

A few years ago, I came up with an idea involving cutting a ferro rod and drilling a hole to make a toggle closure for a bracelet that would also contain a scraping device, paracord and tinder (I posted it here in early 2011 Best paracord survival bracelet? -firesteel, tinder, scraper and sling http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=850353). Here's the 2011 prototype:

I'm proud to say that I've successfully reached the end of a long and difficult process to obtain a patent from the USPTO.

This proves to me that a little guy can protect his invention from companies who would use their status and money to steal and profit from it - without credit or even a nod!
 
Congrats on getting your design patented. :thumbup:
I would be careful though. From what I've heard, other companies will "tweak" a design and then claim it as their own (or just blatantly copy it).:mad:
I haven't seen this design before. Nice rig!!:cool:
 
I'm not posting to sell, just sharing an accomplishment and message - you can protect your ideas!!

Seriously that is the only paracord bracelet that I have seen that I would own. Simple yet clever not to mention highly useful. Congrats on obtaining your patent.
 
Congratz! It is a great idea, and can even lead others to coming up with ideas on their own.

Whats the point of getting a patent if you aren't going to sell them? You've got your market right here - start production! :)
 
I'm just saying that there is a protocol for selling which includes appropriate membership status and posting locations. I appreciate the feedback and just wanted to make it clear that the goal of the post is not fishing for business! This forum is one of the first places I made this invention public and it helped me legally establish a defensible timeline!!! I appreciate that and don't wish to damage the relationship.
