There is a little discussion in the general section about the successor of the 110. ersonally I do not believe the 110 will ever be succeeded as it truly is the classic folding knife in my opinio (I do not like non locking folders), but check it out for fun. Toss in some more enlightened opinions regarding this topic than mine.

The Buck model #110 Folding Hunter is the single greatest folding lockblade of all times. There are none better, no substitutions, nor successors. You guys can have all the high tech tactical folders. I'll stick with my trusty and tested Buck 110. However, I do prefer the older manufacture 110s with the 440C steel and macassar ebony handles. My favorite 110 is the Fourth Version, Type II. My 110 is always in my possession. I treasure it!!

I also don't believe there will ever be another knife like or in a class with the mighty 110.
Just can't be done.
And there will most certainly never be another company like Buck.
The best knife ever made, by the best company there is. And also backed by the world-famous life-time guarantee.
No way this will ever be duplicated by anyone else.
Thanks, Buck!

As I see it, there can't really be a successor until (and if) the 110 isn't made anymore. This could happen, but I think it's unlikely to happen in the near future, but if it does, then the successor will probably be made by Buck too.
What the discussion seems to be about is rather if, and if so, what product may become as successful and longlived, something I think many wants to come up with. If there is, it doesn't seem probable it'd take the 110's place even if it had somewhat the same properties, rather it'll push out some less successful products from the market.

It was me that tald "successor of the #110",sorry!
I felt #110 is a top item of the "Buckrock" system.
As so,I thought it may come that one-hand-open-close,clip,and right "Standerd" knife.
But learning how great #110 more, now I feel how it difficult.
But I do not want Buck Knives give up to produce such a great knife!!

I do not think anyone has to worry that Buck will ever stop making the Folding Hunter #110. The utility of that product is quite frankly timeless...

My grandfather and father designed the knife and the marketplace was ready for it. Timing was perfect but also the dedication to improvement. My grandfather was really worried about making a folder. We guestimate that we have made over 15 million 110's over 36 years.
