I was taking inventory of the knives that I have, and realized that over the past 3 months, due to a renewed interest and buying spree, that I now have a decent collection! Here's a pic:

I just received the last one today--the Buck Strider Mini Spear point (On a whim, after "settling" for a mini tanto, I figured I'd try calling the store to see if they actually had any mini sp's in stock. The operator was great, and she offered me their last one, informing me that it was their display model, and that "$75.00" had been embossed on the blade! Since I was buying it to use, I said I didn't mind. I was planning on trying the same trick to see if they had any large, plain spearpoints in stock, but their sale ended before I got paid.)

These are all great knives--it's had to choose one over the other when getting ready in the morning. I really like the Buck Striders--amazing quality, and for the price that I paid, they cannot be beat.

The Entrek is really amazing too--very solid and nicely put together. The Campanion is my constant hiking knife though. Still trying to decide if I want to take that BMF through the paces--it's not perfect, and it didn't come with the original sheath (came with a custom On Scene Tactical kydex sheath, which is perfect).

I didn't even include all the CRKT's and Gerber folders that I have...

Hey Eric....

Nice little collection you've got going there...

The disease certainly has taken root... :)

Eric...

That's a good collection.

Good mix of sizes, prices, potential uses.

You should be able to experience most of what the cutting world can offer and be able to make good comparisons.

Great collection. You should try out some Benchmades, including ones with axis locks. They will open a whole new door for you :D

Django--

Actually, the first knife that I paid more than $10 for, and carried religiously, was a Benchmade AFCK that I bought new in 1997. Incredible knife that I pretty much wore out--it's THE knife that on which I base any opinions on any new knife that I handle. When Benchmade makes that model again (exactly the same--G10 handles, ATS 34 blade, spyderhole), I will buy another.

It was actually Spyderco's fault that I spent so much money--I won the Emerson and bought the Chinook at the same time (I had wanted a real CQC7 for 10 years). The Chinook showed up first, and there was no turning back at that point. My sights have turned to heavy duty, G10 handled knives--and the CQC7 is just too light (just as strong as the others, I'm sure, but to me the weight means something).

Now, even though I have all these great knives, I can't get my mind off the full sized Manix, the Lil Temperance, or more Buck Striders!

I swear, it's a disease.
