Looks like there are some really, really nice knives that went up on the internet last night, with quite the price ranges. I would love to be in Hawaii right now lookin' at 'em all!

Yes, Bob, I checked them out earlier, the prices are not too
bad as well. Don is one of those full-of surprises men, isn't he...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I know what you are talking about, but it seems as though there is some secrecy or mystique surrounding the whole affair, at least in this thread so far. Is there some rule here that prohibits mentioning the seller by name or even a URL where one could see what you are talking about? It's not like this is an Ebay auction spotting thing.

hey man, I figured it out! And if I can do it...:D
that's quite an assembly of amazing cutlery:eek:

Nothing secretive about Don Guild's site. He is one of the real gentlemen purveyors. I myself had to partake of three of his offerings. There is a very nice (HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT) Don Hanson auto with the most incredible walrus ivory - just had to have it, but don't have any images yet. And anyone who knows me may have an idea of the other two fixed blade knives I found to my liking.

I would like to thank betzner for giving me enough information to find the site in question. It is not one that I check often and I might have missed seeing those stunning pieces.

CarpScot - Don Guild puts together two or three groups of offerings a year. He is not one who just keeps adding on to a website. He does some serious buying, keeping what he loves most and releasing the rest. For me, this round was marvelous.

I swear there is one George Dailey folder I keeep coming back to. The one with the fluted ivory at $2600. I know that's a screaming deal. I just can't afford it, but it talks to me. Should have slipped that one aside and cried mail fraud.... ;)

Don and his wife Barbara write the descriptions and they are humorous, as well as informative.

Of course I wish him 'best of fortunes'. :D

So many beautful knives and absolutely no money

Same here. I love Don's offerings and when I opened the email yesterday morning with the announcement I immediately went to his website. There were (and are) a few knives screaming to me but alas nowadays I'm more in a selling then in a buying mode.

Yeah, I love that stuff. From the few times I've spoken with Don he was a great man and had alot of class.

I can imagine some Warenski's are in your not too distant future Bob:D

Don sure has some incredible knives. I would LOVE the opportunity to see his collection of the keepers!

Thanks Bob for ruining my laptop, the drool shorted out the keyboard. Just now got it back to working with the hair dryer. Thanks for sharing, BTW: Is not the ignore feature nice. :D

It's my understanding that when he got up the next morning and went through the first half of the orders he had received from his online site, the result was that half of the knives turned out sold. And he still had half a stack of orders left to look at.

I would call that "successful"!!
