Your cat is hilarious. Do you have any other pics of ray skin sheaths you have done. The one on the video came out really nice.
If you don't mind me asking, where are you buying your ray skin from?

This is the first completely covered sheath I have done. The materials were all purchased from a Tandy Leather about 15 minutes from me.

Cool looking sheath, very well made. The ray skin has some nice textures and the suede is a great addition. Great job!

Looks nice, your skills continue to improve. :) I've got a suggestion.

A cautionary statement about suede. Its chromium tanned, these salts do stay in the leather after tanning and will leech out if the leather becomes damp. High humidity will cause this as well. Suede is cheap, cheaper than decent veggie tanned leather, but the risk involved, to me, just isnt worth it. My work goes into all environments, especially wet, so I tend to avoid chrome tanned leathers for just that reason. If your sheath stays dry, no chance of getting in damp conditions, then you might be ok.

Take it for what its worth, just from what I have seen happen to good knives sent to me with suede lined sheaths with a "what the heck happened to my knife???" Note. And no, I will not name the makers.
