I was fortunate enough to get a hold of one of the last rounded pommel Padam Suga knives recently. Good thing as I see the last of them were up and gone in a DOTD flash today and ironically mine arrived at my doorstep.
I had been checking the Sugas out in past threads and read someone writing about about how they felt everyone should have one... this is only my 3rd HI blade and my intention is to try to have a nice well rounded collection
in sizes and styles.. I guess the timing was right.

This beautiful bird is 11.5" and 12oz. with a 6.5" blade, a 3/8" spine and a nice satisaal wood handle.

check out the perfect mirror finish:

important to know that this blade is made thick through the handle at 3/8" and then tapers hard on both edges making a nice sharp edge at top and bottom of the blades tip. Very pointy and razor sharp

one of my favorite details on this knife is the super thin brass or painted brass trim outlining the end of the pommel, great work!

Couldn't be more pleased with my choice for my third HI blade and once again amazed at the skills of the Kami. What a beauty!

Thanks to Karda for being super helpful, Yangdu and Padam for the exquisite skill and service,, very pleased once again.

that is nice brass trimming did not notice, intentional or not, looks very stylin-- love the pics

Whoever it was that said everyone should have one of these, I definately agree. These are unique blades and I love mine. It is perfectly balanced and flows so well. And the sharpened swedge gives it an additional set of moves for defense or attack. Awesome pic of a beautiful blade dmcintyrelee

I suggested that everyone should have one. I loved mine that much.

I shouldn't have said that, that way I'll get my choice the next time they come around...lol.

I am glad I got one, but I still wish i got the antler one , somebody won a prize !

That is really nice! It would make one mean fighter. The only thing that I don't like about most fighting kukri is the lack of a sharpened swedge for back cuts. Yours seems like it would do it in spades!

It has the best feel in hand. My first was the CAK, followed by a nice fat AK Bowie and now this sweetie. One thing I am really liking is how different each blade feels and reacts. I think this is part of what keeps up thinking about what blade will be next.. I see a bad domino effect starting! Will be interesting to see what I really use this for but for now I am using it just to make myself feel awesome :) Definitely another class blade.
I have seen the antler version.... very pretty. I do like wood for this model.. will be sending this and my Bowie to Pugs soon.....

That brass trim around the pommel mentioned above is, I believe, a soldering line. My Padam Suga knife shows a tight seam right there, but if more solder were used the polishing process might leave something looking like brass trim. Depending on the type of solder and how it combines with the polishing compound.

I have mixed feelings about the sharpened swedge. It makes the knife a better fighter, for sure. On the other hand, it makes it "double-edged," which is highly illegal around here. One would be hard-pressed to use the "it's a tool" defense, although it would be accurate to say that "it's a tool for defense."

Tried the backcut on a practice target dummy, and it was deadly, cut all the way through the pad filled arm, and to the support frame in the middle.

Reply to the photos #4, Some people said at top andof the blades tip is not sharp enough. If you not believe buy one and place your finger on it!

That antler handle model is drop dead gorgeous. I must have missed that when it came up, don't recall seeing it.

I've been wanting one of these since they first started showing up here. I just haven't been quick enough on the uptake with the DOTDs lately.

circle , email karda, there were a couple of larger padams available that he did not sell I think

That antler handled one is definitely a legend around here. I think all of the Sugas are legendary though. The blade definitely has uniqueness to it. I am interested to know what most owners of these blades use them for,, if anything outside of martial arts??
The balance of the blade and weight definitely seem to lean toward fast useage of it in hand. Kinda funny that even though I am not sure how to put it use yet I am plotting on having a second!

Padam's work is excellent but I have to say that I would be super curious to see what a Bhakkta Suga would look like!
