i cannot deciede what knife to get, i plan to use for food prep, light batoning like 2in wood, and dressing deers

Probably not the best tool for dressing deer due to the thickness of blade stock used, but I do use my RC-4 for that purpose. I just like using that knife. The edge has been thinned out and polished. The 1095 they use sharpens up nicely!

If you plan on using it for food prep the new stainless ESEE-4 might be good.

As others have said, the 4 would work well from the ESEE line.

Only thing, handle is a little small (if you got big mits :D)

I had to make some bigger (and more contoured) scales for mine.

But great little knife. Pretty much do anything with it.

Wouldn't hesitate to go out with just it as my one knife.

Good luck

Works well with this combo.

Not the 5. That thing would not do well for what you want. It's a great knife but is way too thick and bulky...and too short to be a meat cleaver. 3 or 4 would make the best hunting knives.
