Looking for recommendations in price range of below $500.

Basic specs I’m looking for:

*Blade under 4” (min of 3.5”)
*Premium steel (m390 ideal)
*Titanium frame lock
*Flipper
*USA made
*Under 6 ounces
*excellent fit / finish
*Must be able to use back of blade to open amazon packages (ie swedge, has to be better than keys!)

Thanks, but do any of these suggested knives have a swedge that would be handy for opening boxes without dulling the blade?

I use my Chris Reeve Insingo this way and it is great. I just really want a flipper with the same utility. Any thoughts?

The USA made part kills a number of outstanding options.
How about a ZT0095

ZT 0095 could be nice. That Begg Bodega looked great until i found out it was Reate. That’s made in China, right?

I’m ok with Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, other allies. Just don’t want China or Russia manufactured for the time being.

Zieba S3
Hinderer XM-18 3.5
3 Rivers Machine
Ferrum Forge Masterblaster
Olamic 247
Tashi Rowdy HiTech
Hoback Paraclete
Hinderer Eklipse
ZT 0452

Not sure about the weight on some of those but those are some of my favorites.

A XM-18 Hinderer Bowie model. Now that’s a swedge.. I’d probably use the back of tip too. Looks like it’d do a great job at ripping stuff open.

Can’t go wrong with a lot of these suggestions. Mine would be a Olamic wayfarer 247. Get one that is unique for you. GL!

I don't understand, unless you are opening hundreds of packages a week, an m390 blade should not get dull for awhile. Cutting things is literally what the purpose of a knife is for.

It’s a similar idea to having a 2 blade GEC. Keep a blade sharp at all times, because you never know when you’ll need it. If I can take care of my light work with back spine of blade then I’ll always do it.
