Hey everyone. So I'm not really in the market for a knife right now but I'm just curious what people might suggest to me. I was thinking that just giving you a list of what I have might conjure up some ideas. The only guideline would be a fixed blade. Here is a list of the main ones I have

Busse DSSF
Buck 184 Buckmaster
British Issue khukuri from 1980
Randall made Special #16
Esse 4

Anyone with similar taste that has any suggestions?

In strict accordance with your guidelines I offer you these beauties.

As always, it helps to have a budget if you're going to ask for knife recommendations.

That being said, you might check out Condor, Becker, and Himalayan Imports. See if there's anything that fits the bill for you. Also Fallkniven or Bark River. Or you could go custom. All kinds of options for you, really.

It's be great to know your budget. I know that it is all relative, and a knife should be worth the money you spend on it, but a price range would help.

I assume that this knife would be a play thing or part of a collection. If not, then if we knew what you want it to do, that would help too.

Here are a couple of suggestions based on what you seem to like.
Cold Steel Laredo Bowie
Cold Steel Trail Master
Buck 124
Becker Brute

If you like combat knives,
Al Mar Fang
Gerber Mk2
and Kabar USMC of course

EDIT (you might check out EK knives as well)

Nailed it. I'm not seeing the "theme" in the knives listed.

Without further info all I can say is buy the one you thinks looks the coolest.

Thank you for the suggestions so far. I think a few people have missed the point. This is just for fun. I don't really have any guidelines other than maybe fixed blade. I mainly use my ESEE 4 and the others are safe queens. I'm fairly knowledgable on brands and such as I thought would be clear by some of the models I have. I was just seeing if others that like the same models might suggest something I would be interested in. No real budget, no real purpose. Just based on preferences. If you think this is stupid then don't make a suggestion.

I think the Becker brute and almost anything fallkniven are up there as far as suggestions.

Syntaxerrorsix I'm glad to see you have such discerning taste in cutlery.

I love a lot of the Bark River knives but I have read lots of bad stuff about customer service. I am also wary of their convex grind knives. Heard they have problems with the edge rolling.

Whatever edge rolling problems Bark Rivers may have....those problems have nothing to do with convex grinding. Convex grinds are no more prone to rolling than any other type of grind.

And I must be one of those people missing the point. You want us to suggest a fixed blade to you when you haven't given us any criteria? That doesn't make sense.

And since you have said I am not allowed to make a suggestion...guess what! Making a suggestion.

Ulu.
Or a Martindale 24 inch machete.
Or an F Dick offset serrated knife.
Or a leuku.

From what I read, It's not that it's a convex grind that causes the problem. It's the angle of the grind.

I never said you weren't allowed to make a suggestion. I never understand why some people just want to talk down to others. You don't get it? Fine. Move on. This message board is here for us to have friendly discussions right? No need to criticize a simple topic if you don't get it. And if you don't get it, why did you make suggestions? You just want to put others down? Please let's not turn this into a bashing thread because you don't like how I posed my topic.

Being more of a folder guy, I don't have many fixed-blades: Becker BK-2, BK-11 & BK-17, ESEE 4 & Izula 2. That said, here's a few that have piqued my interest:

Spyderco Wilson South Fork
Becker Fisk BK-15
Spyderco Perirn Street Beat
Benchmade Snody Activator
ESEE Candiru
Grohmann #4

Always kinda wanted a Buck 119 Special as well. Odd that I don't have one by now.

Blind Horse Knives Lumberjack Toothpick. Bark River STS-8. Fox Knives Combat Jungle. 3 good ones.
