You guys gave me alot of info and help and pointers when I had trouble with my scales, I just had my blades checked because I got curious as to what my HRC was and if I got close to what I was aiming for as I dont have any of the fancy tools needed to check it or reach accurate temps.

I did get sort of close, between 50-60 on the HRC.

My question is tho, so far Iv only made all around camping knives to be used for everything from just cutting stuff up for dinner or bushcraft and a chopper. What HRC do you think I should aim for , for these kinds of blades?

Your input is greatly valued!

Thanks

Hrc 55-57,seem to be where a lot of manufacturers set theirs, for the type of activity you describe.

I wouldn't go below 59-60. But the type of steel being used is a factor.
I feel like mass produced blades tend to be on the softer side due to warranty. They dont have to cover a knife that doesn't hold an edge, but they may have to cover one that breaks.
