* Suggestion: consolidate Custom/Production in "For Sale" forums *

Hi Spark,

I've been enjoying the new layout and software, and appreciate all your hard work here. Toward improving the For Sale forums, I'd like to suggest doing away with the "Custom"/"Production" distinctions under each heading. The breakdown of categories is nice, but it may be too much of a good thing, as they are a bit more tedious (for me, at least) to read through.

Perhaps we could break down the categories under each heading (e.g., Individuals, Dealers, Makers) simply into "Folders" and "Fixeds"? That alone would cut the number of separate forums down in half.

Esp. given the perpetual "What is a custom?" discussion, one will need to check BOTH Custom AND Production anyway, if/when one is looking for a deal on a Busse, Chris Reeve, Whitewing, and similar "borderline" knives.

Anyhow, my .02. If no one else agrees with this opinion -- well, Spark, then I suppose you can ignore it? Again, thanks for the great work --

People complained that there were too many BTTT's in the threads, so we created subcategories so that every knife wouldn't be in the same forum. Now that it's broken apart, people are complaining that there are too many categories.

I prefer this format. It eliminates more problems than the others.

I agree, I think one fixed blade forum would be enough. Forget the custom & production thing. Just take a look at some of the posts. People are now posting in both because they don't know where people will look. Either that or provide some guidelines that would list which knives are production. IMHO!
