OK, it is getting to be that time of year, and am looking to buy a blade for EDC. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Here's My Wish-List :

Lefty or at least, "Lefty Friendly" i.e., dual thumb stud, reversible or removable clip
Large Blade 4" or just under (my local law limit)
Thick Blade 1/8"-3/16"
Hefty, Textured Handle with some sort of integral front guard or deep notch to keep hand from slipping over blade
Priced low enough so I will be comfortable using it for daily chores, say under $100.00?

Thanks!

Being a lefty all my life I've got two winners that are left hand friendly.

1. The Outdoor Edge Magna in zytel for around $40.00.

2. The A. G. Russell Stikeforce for around $100.00

The Magna is a screaming bargain in a tough Aus-8 blade zytel ,recessed clip working folder.
No sissy knife here. It is designed to do real field work and be very easy to care for and comfortable
to use.

The Strikeforce is A.G.'s take on a premium blade steel Vg-10 with hardned aluminum bolsters with
g-10 scaled making it a outstanding premium workingmans price knife for both work and play.

The thing I like about both is both are sleepers of the first order. Not much zip or flash but boy do
they deliver the goods when it comes to cutting. That and for what you pay both are affordable from
good companies. No matter which one you buy neither is the wrong one for everyday use.

Oh, yes, the clips on both are right hand which to me is a huge plus. The clip does NOT dig
int to my palm that way. The Magna has a slight edge here with a recessed clip.

The second voice for BENCHMADE Griptilian, probably Model 551 with modified drop point. It stays within your price limit and it is a one piece of very thorough knife, comfortable to work with and totally ambidextrous. The blade is somewhat thinner than you have specified but - believe me - it is quite enough to do anything what should be done with folding knife.

Any Benchmade Axis lock is true ambidexterous and there are a lot of nice ones.A Kershaw Random Task (left-handed)is a great knife in that size and price range but I think it is discontinued. If you find one,I would snap it up.
