Sal, I ran into this problem over the weekend with my Dodo. Some grit worked it's way down into the spring of the lock. When I went to open the knife, the grit siezed the the lock in the full compressed position. Contrary to warranty, I took the knife apart and removed the offending grit. The knife works fine again.

Based on the fact the lock is open, have there been anythoughts of enclosing the lock some way? Some sort of boot or casing arounf the spring to seal it.

As I sit here with Dodo in hand,I must say I see your point. My dodo gets a gritty feeling from time to time also.I blow some of my plentiful hot air in there and use a Q tip, almost daily.

This is around the ball itself, never had it get into the spring yet,but in a dirty enviroment I can see that happening.
