I have an extra 30 bucks this month and was thinking i need a new mora. I have a clipper and a warped but serviceable 2000. I was thinking either replace the 2000 or get a different model and suggestions. I am also open to other knives in the sub 40 price range as well. thanks

How about a ColdSteel Canadian Belt Knife ? I got Dad one last year & he Likes it ! It's Razor sharp & feels good in the hand ! only around $15.00 & you could also get the RoachBelly both togather would only run you under $40.00 shipped  I got the RoachBelly...I keep it in my TackleBox;)
Good knives for the money !

Don't let the evil coaldigger sucker you away from the Mora!!! :D Go with the Mora 510, it's the tops man.

Or, check out Ragnar for something else cool in your price range. I've always wanted to try out this guy but never had the guts to pull the trigger: Well hell i can't find it!!! Ragnar and Ben used to carry it and now neither does. It's the 8224 (I think) Jarvenpaa utility puukko. Crap.

Well, here's other cool contenders...

i just got a new one...the 510....bigger tang than most (2nd to the 2k)

i currently enjoy my 840 that ive mod'd (removed gaurd added scallops) its got a user patina....its my backup knife in 2nd pack

Either a 510 (really like this model), a 711, or a Triflex Craftsmen.
The craftsmen if you want a little larger blade.

I have a RoachBelly. All I have ever used it for is cutting those little personal pizzas for dinner at work. I would go with a Mora. Go to Sportsman's Guide webpage, they have a pretty good deal on one that I picked up a while back. No idea what model it is...

I can't stand the Revolver. The locking pin sticks from time to time. Low-quality steel/heat treatment. Poor ergos due to the sharp edge of the blade channel. Go with the Mora. :)

I would suggest mora 945, same handle as the 2010, and a regular, but somehow wery solid blade.
I got two of those, they feel like I should have payed a lot more than I did for them.

They are stainless, I think the carbon model is 911.

You could purchase a blade and guard and make one yourself. You can get a nice scandi blade for $20 or so.I like the Lauri PT blades.

I'd pick up one of those new 2010s, those look awesome.

But I've been happy with my mora clipper now for a while, very egro and gets nasty sharp.

Fajita Master.....if you like the Clipper....the 2010 feels just like it only on steroids, I found it for $32 shipped.

Bige610, if you liked the Moras try a finnish puukko from Ragweed Forge...Marttiini and Iisakki Jarvenpaa have several nice models to choose from. a Finnman would be a nice Mora-like model but with a puukko grind.
