I just picked up a Becker Necker, and am not crazy about the skeletonized handle, and don't really like the cord wrap either. I think a set of thin micarta scales would look great on this knife. Has anyone tried this, and if so, who did the work? I would appreciate any input you all could give me...

Thanks, Esav. I already have this question posted over there. No responses yet, so thought I'd throw it out to the general population. Hope that's OK...

Why not try it yourself? It's not awfully difficult, it would be cheaper, and of course pride in ones own workmanship.

Just a thought.

Actually, I decided to do it myself, but am going a different route than micarta. I read somewhere that plastic dip works well on skeletonized knife handles, so I decided to take it one further: brush-on truck bed liner. Just stir up the can, dip the handle in, let dry, and repeat. I'm on my third coat right now. Will probably go up to about 4 or 5 coats before it's beefy enough for my taste. I'll post pics when I'm done. Thanks everybody for the suggestions!

This is a Toolshed question. If you've already posted it there then there's no point in moving this one so I'll just close it.
