I just saw an idea in a post you'll probably never see -- could we make a big fat SEARCH button at the top of every page? If it were bigger newbies would be more likely to notice it, and that could improve signal to noise ratio a lot.

I agree, that's the biggest gripe I have with most new fella's. I'd like to see a big blaze orange(I added the color just cause I think it would be cool) search button also.

Personally I think a large search button would be a great idea. Still though, I wonder how many that do not use it now would use it because it was larger?

An addition to the FAQ, or a mandatory jump to a bullet-list "newbie" suggestion page when they sign up might be good.

How about a little pop-up window that appears before you post a new thread that reads:

"Are you sure this question has not been asked before?".

Yeah, that would be cool.
