:) Carrying SwissChamp.
Just bought a brand new SwissChamp (model 1.6795 without hook & pin) with a company name on, secondhand on an Internet auction here in Sweden. It has been in its box years just waiting for someone to put it to good use.
I have it hanging in my left pocket attached to a Victorinox belt clip.

Any ideas of making/buying a good protection case/sheath for it, to keep it clean?
What about a sheath for belt carrying?
Yours thankfully

I have mine in a Victorinox sheath-well made and fits perfectly. I cannot remember where I got it, but I would imagine that you could get one from any reatailer carrying the knives.

was there a special reason you bought the nylon sheath? I would have thought a leather one may last longer but is perhaps bigger and clumpy?

It has the velcro closure.

A leather one would probably last longer, but I like the nylon ones better in most cases-just personal preference.

I have also seen Kydex sheaths made for the champ which looked pretty cool and useful.http://www.mnsi.net/~nbtnoel/sheaths.htm

My SwissChamp (or CyberTool 41) rides on my belt in a Victorinox nylon sheath with velcro closure and belt loop. No compaints.

Victorinox also has a clip on leather with elastic sides sheath. I sometimes carry my Climber in one, clipping it next to my cell phone. It's almost unnoticeable. I got it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1403&item=6519312806&tc=photo
that's the one I carry my Cybertool34 in, but be careful, cybertools don't fit well in it unless you take off the lanyard ring and it's very tight for some days, the time for leather to stretch a little.
for non-cybertools it's a really good sheath, and since I don't use the ring, I love it for my Cyb34!

This sheath has elastic sides, you say... sounds like the newer Leatherman sheaths.

Do the Victorinox ones have the double-layer elastic, so that you can stow a small flashlight or other tool in the side panels? The larger Leatherman sheaths have that, and I find it comes in mighty handy.

The sheaths I have seen on the European market all have the metal Victorinox symbol on the front (can scratch things).
It was good to see how the belt clip looks from the side. A good idea for quick on /off the belt.
The SwissChamp is really an excellent knife worth every cent/ penny.
Thanks for all your help I now know what to look for.

No, single elastic. I just got some of the new LMs with the nylon sheaths for my staff. That double elastic is a good idea.

You can buy this item directly from Swissarmy.com cheaper than it is listed here on ebay:

http://www.swissarmy.com/webstore/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=3958&category=133

One of the vendors they redirect you to is $1 less and the other is $2.75 less for the sheath. If you include shipping, you either pay $4 more or .90 less.
