Hello!
So, I am a Civil War reenactor. I would like to have a small fixedblade to act as a companion to my fighting knife. The main uses would be making feather sticks, cutting rope, my eating knife and other such camp chores.
Now, down to the requirements

- Must be traditional! I don't need any specific knife style at all.
- A minimum of 3" blade and a max of 4.5". Somewhere in between is prefered
- Thickness is irrelevant. I prefer something a bit thinner, but it is not a deal breaker
- Handle material would be prefered in a more exotic wood or stag. Again, not a deal breaker
- The sheath must be leather and included
- My top price is $70. That is non negotiable. I can't pay anything more. I would love to see your cool knife for " Just a couple bucks more", but I am pushing the limits as is
- Lastly, it needs to be readily available. Nothing super rare or something that I need to wait ages to receive. Production would be best

I am thinking of the Kellam Puukko as of now. I would love to see suggestions!
I know this is a bit of tough order, but I am curious as to what is out there!

How would something like this float your boat?

I would say a smaller butcher knife to match your time period. Green River, Russel, or even an Old Hickory would work. If I were you, I would pick up the Green River patch/paring knife.

Now that's just awesome! In 21 minutes he found his knife - this forum is the best on earth!

I missed this thread entirely until this afternoon. Nice thread that cheered me up during a long day of less-than-thrilling weekend chores! :D
Congrats, and happy reenacting, Ferahgo! Are you typically Union or Confederate?
Mr. Twoshoes, I salute you for your generosity!!

The generosity of this forum never ceases to amaze me. I am happy to be part of it! I bought my Gold yesterday, due to this thread.

I am Confederate for a variety of reasons. The most important of which is educating people on the true definition of the Confederacy, not what the school books and media says. Teaching that the war had little to nothing to do with slavery is my main goal.

I apologise - that comment above was mean for myself. I first wrote an opinion on what knife could fit the task and only then realised that my reply is obsolete.

Not at all! I would still love input for my comrades.
