I am interested in a knife in 3v. I have a great custom with a 3 1/2" blade.

I would like something from 6.5" to 9.5" blade length. I am currently leaning towards eith the Ferhman First strike and the Extreme Judgment. Looking for similar size knives to compare.

What I am wondering is if anyone knows of a good maker (production or custom) that has similar 3V knives. Thanks

Well if you are looking for a folder Spyderco is coming out with the Tuff apparently around the next month or so. Strider also made a limited run of CPM 3v SNG's with monkey edge and also some DB fixed blades. Those are the only semi-production knives I know that are in 3v.

Bark River has been making a number of their knives out of 3V, but I don't know if you mean blade length or over all length of 6.5-9.5".

Thanks for the responses. I am looking for a larger fixed blade. The small custom I currently own is a fixed blade.

+1 on Bark River, also Zero Tolerance has the ZT100 in 3V, Koster makes some stuff in 3V, Big Chris on these forums works with 3V quite often, I'd just look through the for sale in the custom area find a knife or maker you like and contact them about making another or custom to your specs, which would probably be around the same price or less than a Fehrman. Busse INFI also performs very similar to 3V as well.

I have a Fehrman EJ and love it so far. Everything about it is precise yet robust.

BTW, if you're considering the EJ, you've likely found Cliff Stamp's review. Nasty things happened like edge rippling after batoning into frozen wood. His EJ edge thickness was .028". Eric Fehrman must have decided that would never happen again because the edge thickness of mine is much higher (>.04"). I'm at work currently, and can't remember the actual measurement.

Thanks 2bit. I am considering th EJ, but still am looking for others to compare it too.

Michaelm466 my current favorite production knife is a Busse NMSFNO. Have a couple.

Dan Keffeler if you want to pry like a Gorilla (yes even Noss4 gave up)
Big Chris for super sharp, user-oriented and price attractive offerings.

Check out Dan Koster here in the knifemaker's forums. I have the Bushmaster and EDC in 3V and they are probably the best knives I own.

I love my Extreme judgement. GSO knives have some great ones in 3v check them out. They have a presence here.

My current grail knife is a Shawn Knowles camp knife in 3v - 8.25inch blade - His 3v finish is second to none

I'll second the recommendation for Justin King. I have two customs from him in 3V that are just amazing. He's also very professional and friendly to deal with and his turnaround time is very good.

Ended up with Fehrman First Strick and Kast Chance. Very happy with them.

As another member said Big Chris. He posts custom fbs in fb for sale by maker all the time in 3v.

I have 1 of his knives in 3V. He does does excellent work.

+1 on Bark River. Check out their production schedule Bravo 2 in 3v will be made soon (7") and Bravo 2.5 and Bravo 3 (16") all in 3v.
