Suggestions for a neck knife?

Been looking for something I can take on walks when I'm wearing gym shorts, some of which don't have pockets. I figured a neck knife would be a decent way to carry in this situation. I've had my eye on the Medford Thorn in S35vn but I'm open to other ideas. Anyone have experience with the Medford or anything else they'd recommend? Budget is around $150.

I don't have any experience with it, but Spartan's Enyo gets a lot of love around here. It's rarely missing from just about every neck knife thread I've read through. Hits right at your budget too.

Fred Perrin makes some sweet little knives too, they're about half the cost of your budget, but from what I've seen they are on the smaller side(pro or con, depending on your use).

I've looked at the enyo too. Looks like a nice little knife and I've heard nothing but good about Spartan blades.

I highly recommend the Brous Blade Silent soldier series. The handle design makes it very comfortable. The perrin knives are good but have thin blades and are best suited to self defense roles. The Enyo is a great knife too but isn’t very capable in a self defense role because of lack of finger protection. That is why I like the Brous, it is very capable in both utility and self defense roles.

Clockwise from top left: Perrin La Griffe, Perrin trifolder (not a neck knife), Brous Silent Soldier, Brous Silent Soldier Ranger, Spartan Enyo, Perrin Le Shark.

All of these came with excellent sheaths with great retention.

You'll need to check the secondary market but the Buck Mayo Kaala in S30v is very nice though the sheath is a bit on the iffy side. Also the Becker Eskabar which is a bit larger than the Kaala.

I like the looks of all of those. I see what you mean about finger protection with the enyo. This will be a dual purpose knife so that's def important.

If it is dual purpose I cannot recommend the Silent Soldier series enough. Unlike the Perrins the silent soldier can be comfortably used as a punch dagger as well as in a grip where your pointer finger goes through the ring closest to the blade. It is also very lightweight and unobtrusibe to carry. You can clip the sheath to the belt or use a static cord.

Wow! Pretty badass I like that. Looks like a good amount of edge on it too.

Esse Izula, crkt minimalist, an Alan Folts minimalist, AG Russell woodswalker and check out the Cold Steel lineup. I personally love the CS Beaver Tail.
