Guys,
A work buddy is looking for a traditional gaucho knife, he's not a real knife nut and it will be a user. Need to keep it under $200 if possible.

Any suggestions? Only good source I found quickly was AG Russell. Any others out there?

Thanks in advance!

Boker is putting out a gaucho knife made in Argentina. It goes for a lot less than $200.

Another option is to have one made amny custom makers would make one within that price range.

The Gaucho pattern is basicaly the same as a 6 inch chefs knife.

You also may check out some blackpowder supplliers, I believe I saw a nice one at crazycrow.com but it was called something else.

Do a google search on "facon knife" and you may also get some good options both here and from South American vendors.

Also search for "punal knife" (if you can make the Spanish accent over the letter "n" in "punal" then do that also) and "Cuchillo Criollo."
