Suggestions for altering existing Busse's? And Why you want the alteration?

The idea of the thread is to put forward what changes you would like to see made to some of the knives Busse have done.....maybe give the Boss some ideas on what to do for the future?

My top choices would be:

A Skinny NMFBM at 3/16 thick....fast and light and better able to fulfil the role of a machete as well as a camp knife. I also think it would chop just as well as it will bite easier and deeper.

A 5 inch blade no choil 3b2....keeping the elongated guard and pommel....with a swedge for firesteel use or the SAR 4 file work on the spine. Better for close up wood work and smaller for weight and compact carry. The swedge would also help in a military role and you can still baton with it. Same thickness at 3/16.

That's it for me....those would be my two permanent "user" knives.

I would buy a skinny NMFBM in a heartbeat. I'd sell one of my dogs if I had to.

edit: Dogs as in actual four-legged dogs, my beloved pets. Not dogs as in scrap yard knives. I'm keeping those :D

A choiless BATAC would be great for me.
I also dream of renaissance of the Lil' Ugly model (just in 3/16 thickness):thumbup::thumbup:

To be honest that is why we are gonna launch the Tank buster with so many options...we really want to know what you all want...

Once we do that we will see what everyone is interested in...then the creative mind of Jerry Busse will do his magic...lets face it he is a genius...Never tell him I said that;);)

But he really is:thumbup:

if I could just get a 1" square bar of INFI, about 24" long...

 Amy. Yes that is a great way to find out....I bet there are a good number of "no choils" ordered and it's great to see the BBDC finish back as an option!

Nothing ordered yet because it has not launched yet:)

i've been wanting something long and thin for a while. luckily i got a ZTBM. i would love a thin NMFBM sized knife though.

flatten out the back palm swell of the tack handles juuuuuust a little...

i plan on doing that when i get mine.

also, flattening out the back of the fusion handle did wonders for me. it doesn't force one of two positions now and is way more comfy. it looks like that's one of the things they did for the killa zilla though, but not sure from the few pics i've seen

I want to see the FBMLE with about 3/4" inch added, bringing it to a total blade length of ~11". That would make it a little bit blade heavier than it is now, and also give it more of a machete like quality. And, of course with a full convex grind.

Actually, since we're dreaming a Mr. Mofo with a more pronounced recurve would rock my world.

I managed to secure a unique thin CG FBM last year, so that's done.

At the moment, my KZ is taking all my attention ... too focused on it to think of much else.:D

you know what would be a kick ass option, forget the colors, how about letting us choose how thick we want the blade? Come on now, everyone cares how thick it is, even if its way too thick for the size of the knife (inactive duty) there is still people that would pay that, and at the same thing, others that love thinner blades... so why not make a knife letting us choose what thickness we want. Some of us don't care if it is actually useful in real life, but if it should match the rest of our collection...
that's something to think about eh....

I REALLY like the lighter and faster NMFBM idea. - Personally, I would make it about 0.1875" thick, but still add about another inch or two to the blade length making it about 13" - 14" blade. It would still be lighter and faster in the hand, but with more Extreme Machete / Golok reach and power. I am VERY confident it would CHOP like a demon AND be quicker and more nimble in hand.

I probably see this as a subtle improvement as well.

I like this idea a lot as well.... But, I prefer a $50.00 satin finish and no Camo.

Personally, I am not interested in the File work on the spine or the swedge. But, 3/16" sounds good to me or 0.200" - somewhere around there.

I did this to my SJTAC. I agree the original swells were a bit much for me. Just being slightly flatter helps a lot.

The HR handle is basically very similar to a SJTAC handle, but with lesser/flatter palm swells. So, I prefer the factory HR handle..... But, not the HR pommel. I like the SARSquatch pommel and the new pommel on the TB.

---------------

I would LOVE to see an AD and/or BAD with NO choil and either a VERY small Talon Hole or NO Talon Hole at all.

But, my current grail knife would be an SHBA at 0.1875" thick without choil and with either a VERY small Talon hole or no Talon Hole at all.
