Suggestions for removing a stripped torx head?

In the process of taking apart my Endura for cleaning/maintenance I found the pivot screw head for the lockback was stripped. Does anyone have ideas for removal? Normally I'd dremel a straight line to fit a flathead in there, but this one is so damn small I'd likely damage the handle. Any help would be much appreciated!

Or if you can dremel a slot in it and remove with a flat head screw driver

The best thing would be to use what's called an "easy out" that bites into the material and allows you to turn the screw out. If that doesn't work, the only option I can think of is to drill it out. Try not to damage the hole threads and, if you do, you'll have to retap the hole and replace with a larger screw.

You may want to consider just leaving it alone or sending it to the manufacturer for repair.

In the past I have used a larger size with a hammer. It works well but may damage the screw driver.

I have used the following technique with varying success:

Take the same size torx screwdriver, drop some loctite into the screw, and then place the screwdriver into the screw. Allow it to take a set, and then try again.

Least invasive method, so always worth a shot. Good luck

Thanks for all the suggestions kind sirs. I ended up using a small chisel and hammer to make each "star point" a bit longer. Then fitted in a larger size torx head. A bit tedious, but it worked out in the end. Thanks again everyone and have a great weekend.

I haven't tried that Loctite method. Going to give that a go next time it happens. Usually I go with the next-size-up technique.

I always give it a try, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it doesn't take much time to try

Try an Allen wrench. Usually you can find one slightly bigger, tap in in with a hammer if you must and voila!

As an alternative to the loctite trick (which is genius!) We used to have a bottle of "Screw Grab" in the workshop for stripped or overtightened screws. I believe it was a form of grit in suspension that helped give a little more purchase. Glad you got it out either way!
